Lidgard launches into Fisho final
Lindholme Lakes hosted the thirteenth round of FishOMania 2020 and with 100 anglers spread across the complex, there was plenty of space for anglers to catch a few fish. On the online draw, anglers were favouring Bennys lake and many tipped Lee Thornton and Nick Speed on Bennys 22 and 23 respectively.
However, runaway winner and sealing his spot in the FishOMania final was Ryan Lidgard, who posted an incredible 279lb 12oz. Ryan was on Bennys 13 and it certainly wasn’t unlucky for him as plundered the lakes F1s on a jigga with pellets at first and then casters once the fish wised up.
Second on the day was Matthew Pillay who started his match short on pellets at 5m on peg 13, on Willows lake. He then followed his fish out to 13m and caught F1s well on casters. Matt finished in his edge for a few better fish and this saw him total an impressive 230lb 5oz.
Rounding out the top three was Nick Speed from the favoured peg 23 on Bennys. Nick caught F1s consistently throughout the match shallow to card 228lb 12oz in the five hours.
Our thanks to Aaron, Neil and the team at Lindholme for hosting an awesome qualifier, and also to David Kent who hosted the match for the Angling Trust.
Our next qualifier is at Weston Pools on Saturday and anglers are reminded to check the new procedures and pay for their pools on the Online Booking Site.
