FIPSed 3rd World Coarse Angling Championship for Masters

8th & 9th October 2021, River Sava, Slovenia

Joe Roberts will lead the England team in the 3rd edition of the Masters World Championships. With silver and bronze medals in 2018 and 2019 respectively, England will be looking to go one better in 2021 and add a gold medal to their collection. A strong performance could also see them replace France at the top of the world rankings.

The management duo of Joe Roberts and John Weedon will lead a team consisting of Harry Billing, Tom Pickering, Matt Hall, Brad Titmus and Bill Reynolds.

“My name is John Weeden, I’m the manager of the England Disabled team and captain of Matrix Team Image. I have several national championships medals and 1 silver and 2 bronze medals from World Championships. I’ve won hundreds of matches in over 45 years of match fishing including a few match records on canals and latterly lakes including the match record at Southend farm with 389 lb of carp up to 26 lb.”

Harry Billing

My name is Harry Billing, I’m from Manchester, married with 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. Some of my achievements include;
Veterans World Champion 2016
Veterans National Champion 2017, 2018 and 2019
Parkdean Masters Champion 2002 and 2012

Matt Hall
World Ranking: 16th

“My angling cv includes many big match wins in the 35 years of participation, including two Fish-O-Mania titles in 2003 & 2009. I have been a finalist in most of the big events including Feedermasters and Riverfest, which shows my true all-round status. Representing England at Masters level has given me a new focus, with a debut bronze team medal and individual top 10 place at the World Angling Games in South Africa 2019. I consider it a real honour to represent England and will be looking to provide the team with a wealth of experience and total commitment to the cause”

 

 

 

 

Tommy Pickering

I have represented England at World Championships on 18 occasions, I’ve managed the England Ladies and Feeder teams in 16 World Championships and won 29 international medals over that period, including 1989 individual World Champion in Bulgaria, World Club individual gold and 11 other gold medals.’
