Get Fishing News

Don’t forget why YOU first went fishing…

Remember how you got into fishing?

There’s a good chance a family member took you to begin with. We know that those who start their angling journey accompanied by a relative are way more likely to keep fishing throughout their life.

Please do your bit for angling – make time to take someone fishing – even if it’s just for a couple of hours.

That’s long enough and you could even get your “other half” to collect them so you can fish on a bit later.

It’s worth it in the long run – you’ll have a fishing buddy for life, angling will be stronger because you’ve helped boost our numbers and we guarantee you’ll feel good about yourself afterwards!

Take someone fishing FREE – find an event HERE.

Can’t find an event on Get Fishing that fits in with your plans? Then contact Danny and Dave, our Angling Development Officers…

The “Get Fishing” campaign is run by the Angling Trust to increase the number of people being introduced to angling across the country. Anyone interested in going fishing can find angling events at Get Fishing Near You. The events listed are for all participants regardless of gender, age, fitness or previous angling experience.

Angling Participation and the Get Fishing campaign is supported by Environment Agency fishing licence income and helps to introduce thousands of people to fishing each year.
