Immersing oneself in the English countryside is a great way to relax and lower the stress levels, during what can be a busy time of year for many people. Angling is the perfect fit for staying active outdoors, and with physical activity playing a vital role in both our physical and mental wellbeing, a fishing trip with a mate or family member means you can stay active.
At this time of year there are still loads of fisheries, lakes, stretches or river and canal open all over the country, that are perfect to visit even in colder weather.

You will need a rod fishing licence from the Environment Agency to fish for freshwater fish in England (except the River Tweed), Wales and the Border Esk region of Scotland. You can purchase one here: https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences
Licences for children aged between 13 and 16 are free, but you’ll still need to get one.
You must always carry your rod fishing licence when you’re fishing or you could be prosecuted.
