Lane lines up Fisho final

Moorlands Farm hosted it’s second Fish’O’Mania qualifier on Saturday and again the weather didn’t play ball with changeable conditions and high winds. On the online draw many fancied Glyn Clark on Meadow and Des Shipp on Silver pool, however, it was the unfavoured Bank pool that threw up both the winner and second place.

Chris Lane was the twelfth man to book himself a spot in the 50K final from peg 23 on Bank. Focusing on his left-hand margin Chris has fished hard pellets to combat the depth and took mainly carp for his 177lb winning weight, which saw him nearly 50lb clear of the field!

Pegged next to him on Bank 22 Chris Shurmer has also fished hard pellet, but out into the open water at 8 meters with 8’s on the hook and 6mm as feed. Chris took mainly carp and 20lb of skimmers for his 128lb 2oz.

Rounding out the top three was Matt Hale from Moors peg 7. Matt has amassed an impressive 121lb 5oz in the five hours of carp and F1s.

Our thanks to Tracy, the team, and now Grant at Moorlands Fisheries for hosting another cracking qualifier, and also to Terry Nutt who stepped in last minute to host the match for the Angling Trust.

Our next qualifier is at Lindholme Lakes on Wednesday and anglers are reminded to check the new procedures and pay for their pools on the Online Booking Site.
