National Celebration of Young People and Fishing
HELD EVERY YEAR ON THE THIRD WEEKEND OF SEPTEMBER AND RUN IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ANGLING TRUST, IS THE UK’S LARGEST NATIONAL CELEBRATION OF YOUNG PEOPLES’ FISHING. THE AIM IS TO MAKE SURE PARTICIPANTS HAVE A FUN DAY, LAND A FEW FISH, LEARN SOMETHING NEW, MEET NEW FRIENDS AND END UP BEING INSPIRED TO COME BACK TO THE NATIONS WATERWAYS TIME AND TIME AGAIN.
Winning a prize or being crowned champion would of course be a dream come true but taking part in this unique occasion is something that every young person aged between 7 and 20 is now able to do.
Age categories:
Cadets (aged 7 to 10 years on the day of the event). Book HERE.

Taking part in 2022
- The Cadet and Youth events will be held on the Shropshire Union Canal at Shebdon, Staffordshire ST20 0PX on Saturday 17th September.
- The Junior event will be held on the Shropshire Union Canal at Soudley, near Market Drayton, Shropshire TF9 2NB on Sunday 18th September.
- Canal & River Trust will hold an online draw for a fishing peg on the Canal & River Trust Angling Facebook page on the evenings of Wednesday 14th (Cadet and Youth) and Thursday 15th September (Juniors).

The draw for the cadets and youth will take place on the Canal & River Trust Angling Facebook Page on Wednesday 14th September at 6pm. The draw for the juniors will take place on the Canal & River Trust Angling Facebook Page on Thursday 15th September at 6pm.

Cancellation/Refunds: Please note: If you wish to cancel a ticket, please inform refunds@anglingtrust.net by email, and include your name, the name of the qualifier you would like to cancel, your membership number & postcode. We require 3 days notice prior to the qualifier in order to process a refund. Any notification outside of this time scale will not be entitled to receive a refund. Please note: There is no secondary market for the sale or transfer of any tickets.
