Virtual Fisheries Forum | The Fisheries Improvement Programme

21 July 2021 7:00 PM - 21 July 2021 8:15 PM
Open to all

In this next Virtual Fisheries Forum, we welcome the Environment Agency’s Roger Handford for an in-depth look at the Fisheries Improvement Programme.

The Fisheries Improvement Programme (FIP) is one of the many ways in which the Environment Agency reinvests income from fishing licence sales. It can support a wide range of areas which benefit anglers, including:

  • Improved pegs, pathways & disabled access
  • Fish passage & habitat works
  • Measures to make fisheries more resilient, e.g water quality monitoring & supplementary aeration

More more detail on the kind of projects which FIP can support, click here. Please note that measures to protect fish stocks from predation should be sought through the Angling Improvement Fund (AIF), and not FIP.

This event provides a great opportunity for angling clubs, fisheries, and other stakeholders to learn more about FIP; the application process and what the programme can offer. It is free to attend and open to all, and we encourage you to notify any fishing friends or colleagues who may find this session useful.

Wednesday 21st July

Start time: 7:00pm

End time: 8:15pm (approx)

After feedback from previous events, our Virtual Fisheries Forums are now be broadcast via Zoom. Once you’ve registered, you will be sent a link for joining. You do not need an account with Zoom in order to take part.

Virtual Fisheries Forums follow a simple format, with a talk from our guest speaker, before an open Q&A session, where your questions will be answered. Using the Q&A function on Zoom, you will be able to raise questions at any time. We are also happy to take questions in advance of the meeting.
